An English Regency-style convex mirror, made around 1900.
The round mirror has a gilded wooden frame with a black-finished inner edge and decorative spherical ornaments. At the top is a beautifully carved, black-patinated eagle with outstretched wings, holding a chain in its beak.
The spherical mirror glass produces a wide, reduced reflection. The design is inspired by the English Regency period in the early 19th century, when such mirrors were particularly popular.
The mirror has a wooden back and shows signs of wear consistent with its age.
