English black lacquer chinoiserie cabinet
English black lacquered cabinet with two doors, each decorated with a chinoiserie scene in gold and ochre tones on a black base. Pavilions and pagodas, figures on a bridge and in a garden, a crane in flight and a deer are depicted.
Made in the mid 20th century, in the tradition of 18th century English and continental chinoiserie lacquer cabinets. Signs of use and age are visible, including light wear on the top edge and some paint losses.
