Anglo-Indian campaign chest

A particularly beautiful Anglo-Indian campaign chest of drawers or commode, in two parts. Teak, 19th century. Structurally in perfect condition. Beautiful colour.

English campaign furniture is a type of furniture originally designed for army officers on military campaigns (especially in the 18th and 19th centuries), particularly in the British army. It was made to be easily taken along when moving. It is therefore often collapsible or foldable, sturdy and light, and fitted with brass hardware to protect the piece.
