Tripod center table with gemstone top

A special Italian tripod center table with an inlaid marble top. The base is an Italian early 19th century tripod table (1820 to 1830), made of mahogany with finely carved ram's heads. Beautiful colour and patina.

The marble top with inlay dates from the mid or late 20th century. It is fully inlaid with countless gemstones, mainly round shapes but also flower and bird motifs. Types of gemstone used include agate, jasper, malachite, lapis lazuli, onyx, serpentine and various types of marble. Marble and wooden base both in very good condition.
