A monumental table with parquetry, 19th century

A monumental 19th-century French table, measuring no less than 340 cm in length and featuring a distinctive geometrically inlaid tabletop.

The tabletop is crafted from various types of wood, including walnut, with the alternating grain directions and colour variations creating a three-dimensional pattern. This technique is known as parquetry. The table rails and the six sturdy, tapered legs also feature geometric wood inlays. Small metal pins with square heads set into the tabletop add a further decorative detail.

The table has a warm patina and shows slight signs of wear befitting its age. We found the table in the south of France.

Thanks to its exceptional length of 340 cm, the table is suitable as a large dining table, conference table or presentation table in, for example, a hotel or showroom.

The table can be raised slightly, for example with brass castors.
